Ethiopia is the birthplace of coffee: it is in the forests of the Kaffa region that coffee arabica grew wild. Coffee is “Buna” in Ethiopia. Coffee Arabica is found in Kaffa, Sidama, Yirga cheffe, Harar, Limmu and different parts of Ethiopia. The Kaffa region in the South-west Ethiopia is the origin of the genetic diversity of Coffea Arabica, the most popular type of coffee in the world.

Arrival in Addis in the morning at Bole Airport, transfer to hotel. Visit of Addis Ababa: Tomoca coffee shop (Piazza), Kaldis Coffee Shops and Mercato/Entoto Mountains. If time permits, add the national museum or one of its beautiful churches (St-George Cathedral, Holy Trinity church or Bole Medhane Alem Cathedral) In the evening traditional dinner in Cultural Restaurant.

Drive to Sidamo coffee region. Stop to see Oromo graves on the side of the road and stop at Zway Lake for lunch in Bekelle Mola Zway and see waterbirds on the lake. Continue to Awasa and Yirga Alem.

Drive more south to visit coffee plantations, coffe union projects in Yirga Cheffe. Visit Manchiti Rock Engravings on the way close to Dilla. Return to Yirga Alem in the evening.

After Sodo, leave the main road and drive through the Dorze mountains to visit these colorful people well known for their tukuls. Continue to Arba Minch.

Today you drive to Sodo and Lake Awassa. Stops between Sodo and Shashemene to visit Wolaita villages.

In the morning visit the fish market in Awassa and have a small lake on the border of the lake. Then drive to Addis through the Gurage reign and stop on the way for Tiya visit.
Morning visit of ‘Dry mills Kuru’ and then city visit nationla museum, mausoleum Menelik II, different churches like Holy Trinity, St-George Cathedral, Bole Medhane Alem Cathedral, Institute of Ethiopian Studies. Transfer to the airport for the flight to back home!
