Meet the Team
Eyayaw Biru, is born and raised in Lalibela, Ethiopia. After studying business and tourism at the Maedot Tourism and Hotel Management College, he followed his desire to show the magic of Ethiopia to travelers from around the world
He has over 11 years’ experience in tourism, is an excellent guide with a great personality, friendly, responsible and resourceful with deep local knowledge and fluent in English and German.
In 2013 Eyayaw was able to fulfill his dream and founded Eyayaw Tours Ethiopia. He is a very good organizer and proves this in the professional management of his company. His calm, considered manner allows him to solve any problem and all travelers can rely on him and his team in any situation. His smile is contagious and he will do everything to meet the needs of his guests
Eyayaw Biru (Founder)
New Zealander Marty van der Burg, has a long, personal association with both Ethiopia and Eyayaw. The pair met when Marty, a successful building company owner in New Zealand, was working with Habitat for Humanity in Ethiopia in 2007.
The friendship which developed led Marty to encourage and support Eyayaw’s studies and business development. Together Marty and Eyayaw created Eyayaw Tours Ethiopia to showcase real, unique Ethiopia in a way that fully caters to the needs and expectations of foreign travelers.
